This article shows you how to resolve the "Operation must use an updateable query" error occurs when logging in to a two-tier project source that connects to a Microsoft Access metadata

When logging in to a two-tier project source in Strategy Developer that connects to a Microsoft Access metadata, the following error occurs:

Database error <>: Execute Query failed.

Error type: Odbc error. Odbc operation attempted: SQLExecDirect.

……………..

Operation must use an updateable query.

The error typically happens if the Access file is marked as “Read Only”.  However, in this particular case, the file was not marked as “Read Only”.

The error happens because some of the active content in the Access file has been disabled. To resolve this error, open the Access file, and in the Security Warning section, click Enable Content and save the file.

You will now be able to log into the two-tier project source without getting any error message.
