KB438748: In MicroStrategy Secure Enterprise 10.3 - 10.4.x, "Query Engine Execution Start Time" and "Query Pass Start Time" of the first SQL pass show different timestamps in the post-execution SQL view of a report

Kevin Mohammed

Senior Product Specialist • MicroStrategy

When observing Quick View of a report, the Query Engine Execution Start Time and Query Pass Start Time are showing different timestamps.

SYMPTOM
When viewing the post-execution SQL view for a report from Strategy Developer, the "Query Engine Execution Start Time" and the "Query Pass Start Time" of the first SQL pass (SQL Pass 0) may appear to be different. The execution and the performance of the report remains unaffected, however there is a difference in both the timestamps as indicated below. Below is an example of the issue where a 4 hours different in time is seen:

Query Engine Execution Start Time: 8/4/2016 4:32:35 AM

SQL Statements:

Pass0 - Query Pass Start Time: 8/4/2016 8:32:35 AM
Query Pass End Time: 8/4/2016 8:34:35 AM

CAUSE
This is a known issue in  Strategy Secure Enterprise 10.3.0 - 10.4 Hotfix 2.
ACTION
This issue has been fixed in Strategy Secure Enterprise 10.4 Hotfix 3 and 10.6. Upgrade to the latest available Hotfix on Strategy 10.4 or the latest available Strategy feature release (such as 10.9) to take advantage of the fix. KB438748
