SYMPTOM:
The subtotal value is shown incorrectly when creating metric in Visualization dashboard in Strategy 10.x
Create metric in Visualization dashboard with "Ending Fact - Use last value of the fact table" in level options, but the total (subtotal)is shown SUM of metric value.
If the metric create in "Create metric" not in VI dashboard, the last value is shown correctly in total (subtotal) value
STEP TO REPRODUCE:
1. Create metric with Sum (Revenue) in Web
2. Switch to Function Editor, and add Month level with "Ending Fact - Use last value of the fact table" in level options.
3. In Formula editor shown the value like Sum<UseLookupForAttributes=False>(Revenue){~+, >|Month+}
4. Save the metric "End of month Revenue metric"
5. Edit the metric in Metric editor in Developer
6. Switch tab "Subtotals/Aggregation tab", and total/subtotal function/dynamic aggregation function as "Default"
7. Save and close
8. Create Report with "Category", "Month" attribute, and Revenue, end on hand, "End of month Revenue metric" metric
9. Check "Show Total" and total value is shown correctly in Book - the values are 2,640,094 for Revenue, 1,177 for End on Hand, and 117,355 for "End of month Revenue metric" metric
10 Save and create dashboard with this report
11. Create metric in Dashboard with #2~#3 and save the metric as "End of month Revenue - Created in VI"
12. Add the metric into Visualization.
13. Total value is shown sum of revenue, not the last value of fact table result.
CAUSE:
This is a known issue in Strategy Web 10.x
ACTION:
Strategy will continue to investigate and post updates as soon as they are available.
