Today, Strategy on AWS allows teams and organizations to handle resources easily to deploy, configure and manage the Strategy Analytics Platform. In this document, users can find the most common infrastructure related questions about the Amazon Web services interaction with Strategy.
1. How can I manage AWS Relational Database Service (RDS) backups?
Currently, Strategy on AWS does not expose functionality to manage RDS backups. Users can perform specific RDS related actions directly on the AWS console. For additional information on how to backup the databases stored in AWS RDS, refer to the article here
2. Can I take periodic Elastic Block Storage (EBS) snapshots in AWS?
Information running on AWS in the elastic compute servers is generally stored in an EBS volume. Users can take periodic snapshots of these volumes to ensure that data, configurations, and customizations are backed up. For more information on how to perform these activities, refer to AWS documentation
3. What is the Strategy recommendation regarding Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) configuration and creation?
Strategy on AWS can do the following:
a) Create a brand new VPC to hold the Strategy platform.
In this case, when users create an environment using Strategy on AWS, the solution will create a new VPC following the recommended AWS best practices. For more information to deploy your Strategy on AWS environment, refer to the QuickStart guide
b) Use an existing VPC to hold the Strategy platform
It is possible for new Strategy on AWS users to deploy the infrastructure automatically on existing AWS VPCs. If that is the case, users can refer to the AWS documentation to follow suggestions and best practices while creating their VPC.
