KB439938: Filters with 'All' selected are not applied to dossiers when first launched in MicroStrategy Library

Community Admin

Placeholder •

Starting with the release of Strategy ONE (March 2024), dossiers are also known as dashboards.

Description

When first opening a Dossier in Strategy Library after having authored/viewed the dossier in Strategy Web, users may notice the selections from the filter panel displaying differently. Namely, a checkbox filter that had the 'All' option to select all elements of the attribute in Strategy Web displays as unset when viewed in Strategy Library.

Steps to reproduce

  1. In Strategy Web, open/create a dossier with a check box style filter to the Filter Panel
  2. Select the 'all' option to select all attribute elements

  1. Save the dossier
  2. Launch the dossier in Strategy Library and view the filter panel. Notice the filter appears unset, with none of the check box elements selected

Why is this happening?

The filter is still being applied in the same manner, in that the filter is actually unset. In Dossier Authoring from Strategy Web, when Checkbox filters are unset (before any selections are made), they display as everything being checked by default, including the "All" element. In Strategy Library, this 'unset' behavior is to show as having none of the elements selected. There is no "All" element in Strategy Library. Instead, the option to select all elements is offered as a link below the filter's element list.
