This article describes an issue that occur when attempting run a report in MicroStrategy Developer the user receives an message stating "You do not have the licenses or privileges to use the Report Editor".

SYMPTOM
When attempting to run a report after doing a fresh installation of Strategy Developer, users may receive the following error message:

You do not have the licenses or privileges to use the Report Editor

 
If the user tries to edit the report, the edit option is disabled as shown below:

CAUSE
A possible cause of this issue is that the Strategy Analyst and Strategy Developer have not been installed on the machine as shown below:

ACTION
Modify the installation to include Strategy Analyst and Strategy Developer.
