SYMPTOM
When executing the setup.sh script for Strategy 10.10 on Oracle Linux 7.x, the following error is encountered:
The Strategy installer program requires Linux RedHat 6.0 or SuSE11 to run
CAUSEIn Strategy 10.10 the setup.sh script for Linux installations was changed to account for Amazon Linux in the installations but does not take into account Oracle Linux installations.
In other words, in the scenario where both files exist; "
/etc/os-release" and "
/etc/redhat-release" the setup script will enter the first if statement since the "
/etc/os-release file exists", but will always fail to prevent an installation on Oracle Linux even though it is a supported Operating System.
ACTIONIn Strategy 10.10 instead of renaming the file if you add the nocheck flag the installation script will not check for the Operating System, so it will allow it to install correctly without having to change any system level files. The syntax for this would be either of the following depending on the availability of a Graphical User Interface:
./setup.sh -nocheck
./setup.sh -nocheck -console
This issue has been resolved in Strategy 10.11 and newer versions. KB440238
