KB440317: Column IS_REP_LOC in table IS_REP is not being updated for existing reports even if UpdateObjectDeletions option is enabled during the dataload in MicroStrategy 10.x

• Strategy

This issue has been classified as a defect by MicroStrategy. The impact is limited to existing reports when their location gets changed in MicroStrategy 10.x. A code fix for this issue is not available in current releases but is being reviewed for a future MicroStrategy release.

SYMPTOM
Column IS_REP_LOC in table IS_REP is not being updated for existing reports even if UpdateObjectDeletions option is enabled during the dataload in Strategy. The location gets updated correctly for newly created report.

REPRODUCING STEPS IN TUTORIAL

  1. Suppose there is one folder named "Folder A" that included 5 reports.
  2. Rename the "Folder A" to "Folder AB"
  3. Execute the Dataload
  4. IS_REP_LOC in table IS_REP still shows the five reports are belonging to "Folder A" instead of "Folder AB."
  5. Create a new report in "Folder AB."
  6. Execute the data load again.
  7. IS_REP_LOC in table IS_REP still shows "Folder A" contains five reports & "Folder AB" contains one report.

CAUSE
This is a known issue with Strategy 10.x.

ACTION
Currently, this issue is still being reviewed for feasibility by our Technology team, and it is not scoped for any upcoming scheduled Strategy release. Strategy will continue to investigate and post updates as soon as they are available.
