KB440411: MicroStrategy version X Object Manager package imports into MicroStrategy version Y environment without showing a warning message

• Strategy

This Knowledge Base article addresses a limitation of a warning message not showing when users try to import an Object Manager package from one version into another version of MicroStrategy.

SYMPTOM
Users can import an Object Manager package from one Strategy version environment to a different Strategy version environment without receiving a warning message explaining there is a version difference.
Example: User creates a package from Strategy Version 10.4 and tries to import into Version 10.9. The package successfully imports into the Strategy 10.9 environment without a warning.

CAUSE
This is working as expected. Strategy has not implemented a warning message to caution users of a version discrepancy when importing Object Manager packages.

ACTION
Submit an Idea to the Idea’s Exchange to see this feature implemented in a future version of Strategy.
