The following knowledge base article describes one possible cause for the error "3 inflate memory error" while installing the MicroStrategy Product Suite on Windows. A solution is provided.

SYMPTOM
The following error can be seen when attempting to install the Strategy Product Suite on a Windows machine.

Setup encountered the following error. 3 inflate memory error occurs during the step of Installing Strategy Common Files

CAUSE
This error can be seen if the decompression operation was invalid or incomplete due to a corrupted data file during the download of the Strategy installation package.
ACTION
User should delete and re-download the Strategy installation package to a local drive on the machine, extract the files and attempt the installation again.
