Load Dossier Chapters on Demand for MicroStrategy versions 10.11+

Starting with the release of Strategy ONE (March 2024), dossiers are also known as dashboards.

Description

By default, when a dossier is opened, the data for all chapters and pages is executed and loaded. With Strategy 10.11, users can design dossiers that only load the initial chapter when opened. This option can be set on the dossier properties window, and is particularly helpful in improving the performance for dossiers that contain several chapters and pages.

Get Started with loading chapters on demand

1. Open Strategy Workstation.
   
2. Open Choose a dossier of your choice.
   
3. Click on the dossier to open it.
   
4. Click File > Dossier Properties from the top menu bar.
   
5. The Dossier Properties window will appear.
   
6. Look to Execution Mode. View the image below.
   
7. Check Load chapters on demand.
   
8. You're good to go! This practice is best for dossiers with numerous chapters.
