This knowledge base article describes an issue that has been classified as a defect by MicroStrategy. After upgrading to MicroStrategy Secure Enterprise 10.4 Hotfix 6/7 or 10.10 and newer, the IS_REP_FACT table is empty when using a DB2 Enterprise Manager warehouse. Currently this issue is being reviewed by MicroStrategy for a potential code fix on an upcoming MicroStrategy release.

SUMMARY
This knowledge base article describes an issue that has been classified as a defect by Strategy. After upgrading to Strategy Secure Enterprise 10.4 Hotfix 6, 10.4 Hotfix 7, 10.10 or newer, the IS_REP_FACT table is empty when using a DB2 Enterprise Manager warehouse. Currently this issue is being reviewed by Strategy for a potential code fix on an upcoming Strategy release.
SYMPTOM
On an environment with an Enterprise Manager Data Loader service configured to a DB2 Enterprise Manager warehouse, the IS_REP_FACT table is empty after upgrading Strategy to 10.4 Hotfix 6, 10.4 Hotfix 7, 10.10 or newer. The DSSErrors.log shows the following error message after the installer completes the upgrade to one of these versions:

Execute Query failed.
*/; VALID SYMBOLS ARE BEGIN-OF-STATEMENT. <space> For more information, please consult DB2 document for error code SQL0-104. [56098:-727: on SQLHANDLE]
[Strategy][ODBC DB2 Wire Protocol driver][UDB DB2 for Windows, UNIX, and Linux]An error occurred during implicit system action type '2'.
Information returned for the error includes SQLCODE '-104', SQLSTATE '42601' and message tokens '*/|BEGIN-OF-STATEMENT|<space>'.

Data loads run successfully after the upgrade, but the IS_REP_FACT table remains empty.
CAUSE
The installation of 10.4 Hotfix 6, 10.4 Hotfix 7, 10.10 and newer runs an update script on the Enterprise Manager warehouse selected in the Enterprise Manager Data Loader service on that machine. This update script is specified for the database type and includes a number of Enterprise Manager fixes. When the installer runs the update script on a DB2 Enterprise Manager warehouse, it incorrectly runs commented out SQL which causes the IS_REP_FACT table to be empty with the wrong number of columns.
WORKAROUND
When using a DB2 Enterprise Manager warehouse, contact Strategy Technical Support before upgrading to any of the versions mentioned. If the upgrade process has already been completed and the IS_REP_FACT table is empty, contact Strategy Technical Support for further assistance.
ACTION
This issue will be addressed in the upcoming Hotfix on 10.4 and as well as the newer feature release scheduled to be released in Q2 2018.
