SYMPTOM:
In Strategy 10.9, the search box selector does not suggest attributes elements while the user types in as it does on Strategy 10.4. Instead, the user has to hit ‘Enter’ key so the search returns a result.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
1. In Strategy 10.9, Strategy Tutorial project, create a New Document > 01 Blank Dashboard;
2. As dataset for that RSD, select the report Shared Reports > Subject Areas > Supplier Analysis > Supplier Sales Report;
3. Add the whole report as a grid to the panel stack;
4. Insert a search box selector and configure it as follows:
a) Drag the Item attribute in the selector;
b) Set the selector to target the grid (step 3);
c) Right-click the selector > Properties and Formatting > Selector > uncheck:
i) Apply selections as a filter
ii) Show options for all
d) Right-click the selector > Properties and Formatting > Layout > uncheck:
i) Allow multiple selections
ii) Search on server
5. Run the RSD in presentation view mode;
6. In the search box selector, type “the” and notice that no item containing the string “the” is suggested as an option;
7. Now, hit the ‘Enter’ key on your keyboard and see all the items which contain “the” be suggested as element for selection.
