KB441097: The URL Scheme is Ignored in Internal links Used on MicroStrategy Mobile Platform iOS App

Community Admin

• Strategy

The URL Scheme is ignored in the internal links when it is used on MicroStrategy iOS platform app.

SYMPTOM:
A URL Scheme can allow users to open another app from one app or perform specific actions inside the app. For Strategy mobile app, the default URL Scheme is mstr://. Users can also set the desired URL Schemes on Strategy SDK app as per the documentation.
However, the URL Scheme is ignored in the internal links when it is used on Strategy app. Which means, user can use any URL Scheme inside the Strategy app to perform specific actions and there is no way to launch other Apps through URL.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
1. Create a document with two internal links: mstr://?evt=3988 and aaa://?evt=3988
2. Run this document on Strategy 10.8 app on iPad, type on the two links, both can work to toggle the offline mode. For the Strategy app download from the App Store, "aaa" is not a registered URL Scheme, but still can be used in the app.

CAUSE:
This is a known issue in Strategy platform app 10.8 for iOS.

ACTION:
This issue has been addressed in Strategy platform 10.9 for iOS. Please upgrade to take advantage of the fix.
