KB441187: MicroStrategy Data Cloud Visualization Getting Cut off in MicroStrategy 10.10 and Later

This article discusses a known issue in MicroStrategy Web 10.10. The data cloud widget can cut off words if the name of the attributes are long or if the data cloud widget is zoomed in from the format settings

Starting with the release of Strategy ONE (March 2024), dossiers are also known as dashboards.
SYMPTOM:
In Strategy Web if using the data cloud visualization with long attribute names or if a user zooms in too far with settings in the format tab some of the words in the data cloud can get cut off. Even though there might be enough room in the visualization to fit all of the words in the space provided, the words will still be cut off.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE:

  1. Create a new blank dossier
  2. Make the visualization type data cloud
  3. Fill the visualization with any type of data
  4. Go into the format tab and increase the scale
  5. One can see that some of the words have been cut off. The chances words will be cut off is increased if the visualization is refreshed on a schedule or if one switches between “Ellipse” and “Rectangular” settings in the format tab.
