Chris Spasevski

Product Specialist • Strategy

When using Project Duplication in MicroStrategy 10.11, if the Administrator password is different between the source and destination project sources, the Administrator password in the destination environment will be overwritten by the Administrator password in the source environment.

SYMPTOM:
When using Project Duplication in Strategy 10.11, if the Administrator password is different between the source and destination project sources, the Administrator password in the destination environment will be overwritten by the Administrator password in the source environment.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
1.) Confirm that Administrator password is different between source and destination project source.
2.) Run Project Duplication and choose "None" when shown option to copy uses as part of duplication process.
3.) After duplication is completed, attempt to log into Strategy Developer with the Administrator user in the destination environment. Note that the login fails. Trying the source project's Administrator password works.

CAUSE:
This is an identified defect in Strategy 10.11 and has been logged to our Technology team.

ACTION:
Currently this issue is still being reviewed for feasibility by our Technology team and is not scoped for any upcoming scheduled Strategy release.
