KB441480: Error message "An object name cannot contain the following characters: " \ []" is received when rename an object in MicroStrategy Developer and Web

SYMPTOM
When naming an object in Strategy Developer or Web, below error is received when object name contains characters double quotation marks("), back slash(\) or bracket([]).

An object name cannot contain the following characters: " \ []


The object name cannot contain the reserved characters '[', ']','"' and '\'.


CAUSE
This is an known limitation in Strategy. These special characters can cause SQL execution problem, thus are not allowed in object name.
 
ACTION
Do not use these special characters in object name.
