KB441669: In MicroStrategy Library 10.11 using WebSphere URL logging through http://server:port/MicroStrategyLibrary results in 404 error

Katarzyna Olszewska

Senior Cloud Support Engineer III • MicroStrategy

This knowledge base article describes an identified defect with Microstrategy Library 10.11 on WebSphere. When accessing and logging through http://server:port/MicroStrategyLibrary URL redirect is not working properly and user is receiving 404 error.

Description

In Strategy 10.11, users of the Strategy Library application are receiving 404 errors after logging in using an environment URL of the form http://<server_name>:<port>/StrategyLibrary when the application has been deployed through IBM WebSphere.

Steps to reproduce

  1. IBM WebSphere is installed and configured
  2. Deploy the Strategy Library WAR file into WebSphere (Link )
  3. After installed and configured, go to the Strategy Library Administration page and connect Library to your Strategy Intelligence Server (Link)
  4. From a browser, access Strategy Library from a url of the following format: http://<server_name>:<port>/StrategyLibrary
  5. The redirect after logging in results in a 404 error instead of redirecting the user correctly to http://<server_name>:<port>/MicroStrategyLibrary/app.

Why is this happening?

This is a known defect in the Strategy 10.11 release, which has been fixed in Strategy 11.0 and all subsequent releases.

Solution

Option 1

While still using the Strategy 10.11 release, make sure that the URL provided to end users is of the form http://<server_name>:<port>/MicroStrategyLibrary/app as this will avoid the 404 error.

Option 2

Upgrade your environment to the latest version of Strategy (2019+).
