KB441696: Cannot Add Prompts into View Filter of Cube Based Report in MicroStrategy Web

SYMPTOM

Users cannot add prompts into the view filer of cube-based report in Strategy Web while it is possible to do so in Strategy Developer.
 

STEPS TO REPRODUCE

1. Create an intelligence cube and use the cube to create a report
2. Edit the report in web, try to add a view filter, there is no way to add prompts.
3. Edit the same report in Developer, it is possible to add prompt in view filter
 

CAUSE

This is a limitation of Strategy Web 10.11. Currently, it is not supported to add prompts into view filter of cube-based report from Strategy Web.

ACTION

Currently this issue is still being reviewed for feasibility by our Technology team and it is not scoped for any upcoming scheduled Strategy release.

WORKAROUND

Edit the report in Strategy Developer and add prompts into view filter there.
