KB441871: User Groups results are not displayed as expected in a report after filtering on Objects Exists Status attribute in Enterprise Manager

• Strategy

This Knowledge Base article describes how to show the correct results for USER GROUP attribute in a report after filtering on Objects Exists Status attribute in Enterprise Manager.

SYMPTOM
When a report is created with the attributes "User group," "User," and with the flag attribute "Object exist Status" filtered to qualify on "EXISTS IN THE MD REPOSITORY" deleted USERS GROUP are shown. Deleted users groups remain even though the command UPDATEOBJECTDELETIONS in the data load in Strategy Enterprise Manager 10.x was used.
To display the correct result, the Command REPOPULATETABLES should be used as well in the data load.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
To reproduce the issue, please follow the steps below:

  1. In Developer, delete a User Group and update the Enterprise Manager with the Data load using 'UPDATEOBJECTDELETIONS' command (as per KB441334 ).
  2. Create a report in Enterprise Manager using the attributes "Users Group" and "Users."
  3. Filter the report with the flag attribute "Object exist Status" and qualify on “Exists in the MD repository.”
  4. Run the report and check the result: the deleted user groups are displayed in the report as well as the existing User Groups.

CAUSE
This is working as designed in Strategy 10.X. During the data load in Enterprise Manager, it should be considered to populate all the Relationship tables in the Enterprise Manager Warehouse such as relationships between Users & User Groups to show the correct results. The Relationship tables must be updated during the Data Load.

ACTION
To avoid retrieving the deleted User Groups, execute a new Data Load or update an existing one in Command manager, with the command REPOPULATETABLES, as, for example, shown below:
CREATE DATA LOAD "Data Load 1" FOR ENVIRONMENT "server1" AND PROJECT "Strategy Tutorial" DO ACTIONS REPOPULATETABLES BEGIN DATE "02/23/2018 22:00:00 +0000" TO "02/23/2019 22:00:00 +0000" FREQUENCY WEEKLY ON SATURDAY FROM 02:00:00 TO 06:00:00 EVERY 2 HOURS ENABLED IN ENTERPRISE MANAGER "localhost" IN PORT 9999;
