This article discusses an error relating to the exporting of ESRI to PDF. The error being: “ERROR: TypeError:undefined is not an object (evaluating ‘AE layerObject type’)”

Starting with the release of Strategy ONE (March 2024), dossiers are also known as dashboards.
SYMPTOM
Unable to export ESRI maps to pdf, seeing “ERROR: TypeError: undefined is not an object (evaluating ‘AE layerObject type’)” in the web logs.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE

  1. Open document or dossier with ESRI map successfully displayed in presentation mode
  2. Go to file, export, pdf
  3. See the pdf export fail to successfully complete

CAUSE
This issue can be caused by the intelligence server not having access to Arcgis.
ACTION
Give the i-server machine access to arcgis and pdf exports of ESRI maps should complete successfully.
