KB442066: When will be password policies be applied in a MicroStrategy environment after modifying the existing settings

Kevin Mohammed

Senior Product Specialist • MicroStrategy

This KB article describes the timing for when a new password policy in put into place in MicroStrategy.

CONTENT
In Strategy Developer, a password policy can be set to comply with desired Security settings. When a new password policy is put into place, the policy will take effect for users' next password change. This means that current users will not be affected by the setting/changing of password policies. The users will be able to log in using their existing password. Once users attempt to make changes to their existing password, the new password policies will be enforced on the Strategy side.
A list of common security policies regarding passwords can be found at the following KB article.
