Definition of the authentication modes

Standard: Intelligence Server is the authentication authority. This is the default authentication mode.

LDAP: An LDAP server is the authentication authority.  When using LDAP authentication, LDAP users and groups are either linked directly to Strategy users and groups, or they are imported into the Strategy metadata.

Database warehouse: This mode of database authentication identifies users using a login ID and password stored in the data warehouse database. The RDBMS is the authentication authority and verifies that the login ID and password are valid.

Guest: Users log in as “Guest” and do not need to provide a password.

Windows authentication: Windows is the authentication authority. Windows authentication can be enabled to allow Windows users access to Strategy without having to enter their login information

SAML authentication: A two-way authentication set up between your Strategy server and a SAML Identity Provider.

Integrated authentication: A domain controller using Kerberos authentication is the authentication authority.

Trusted authentication: A third-party single sign-on tool, such as IBM® Tivoli® Access Manager, CA SiteMinder®, or Oracle® Access Manager, is the authentication authority.

Strategy Identity: Users login using Strategy Identity Server. It enables users to electronically validate their identity using the Badge app on their smartphone, instead of entering a password
