KB442501: Is it possible to expose “Create Personal View” subscription option in Presentation mode for users who open a shared Dossier via URL API in MicroStrategy Web 10.11?

Community Admin

• Strategy

In MicroStrategy Web “Create Personal View” subscription is not available in Presentation mode. This works as designed.

Starting with the release of Strategy ONE (March 2024), dossiers are also known as dashboards.
SYMPTOM
Administrator might want to allow the users to create a personal view subscription for Dossier  from the shared by another user URL API. He wants the option “Create Personal View" being available in Presentation display mode of the already opened and shared Dossier. In order to have the "Create Personal View" option available, users must go to "Edit Mode" and access the "File" menu.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE

  • In Strategy Tutorial, share the Dossier URL API  with another user

  • When any user clicks on URL API, the Dossier gets opened in Presentation mode by default and the option “Create Personal View” is not available unless the user switches to Editable mode

Note: The parameter “share=2” can be attached to URL API in order to open the Dossier in Editable mode and have all menus available
CAUSE
This is working as designed in Strategy Web. The "Create Personal View" option can be only accessed from Editable mode
