CAUSE

The absolute path of sforce.jar must be set in JVMClasspath when connecting to Salesforce. Fail to set the value when using ODBC Data Source Administrator to create a DSN for salesforce.

ACTION

Recommend creating a DSN for Salesforce using Strategy Connectivity Wizard instead of ODBC Data Source Administrator.
In some situations, if the user does not have access to Connectivity Wizard, he/she can follow below steps to set JVMClasspath manually.

WORKAROUND

If customer uses ODBC Data Source Administrator to create a DSN for salesforce, he/she can follow below steps to set JVMClasspath manually:

Windows environment
Set the JVMClasspath value to the absolute path of sforce.jar in Registry Editor.
In Windows I-Server environment, the sforce.jar resides on <Strategy Install Path>\Common Files\MicroStrategy\ODBC\.

In Windows workstation or Desktop environment, the sfoce.jar resides on <Windows Workstation or Windows Desktop Install Path>\odbc\.

For example, the path in the Windows Registry should be similar to the following:
\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ODBC\ODBC.INI\[salesforce]

Linux environment
Set the JVMClasspath value to the absolute path of sforce.jar in odbc.ini.
In Linux environment, the sforce.jar resides on <Strategy Install Path>/lib.
