Document caches are not deleted by executing outline "PURGE ALL CACHING IN PROJECT "<Project Name>";" in MicroStrategy Command Manager 9.x and 10.x

SYMPTOM: 
Some document caches can be created without dataset caches, such as documents created against visual insight and so on. This kind of document caches cannot be deleted by executing outline "PURGE ALL CACHING IN PROJECT "<Project Name>";" in Strategy Command Manager 9.x and 10.x.
 
STEPS TO REPRODUCE:

  1. Enable report and document caches in Project configuration -> Caching -> Creation, as shown below.

CAUSE: 
 "PURGE ALL CACHING" command can only purge object, element and report caches. 
 
ACTION: 
Execute command "DELETE DOCUMENT CACHES IN PROJECT "<project_name>"; ".
 
WORKAROUND:
Manually delete document caches in cache monitor.
 
 
 

  • Go to Web ->Strategy Tutorial ->Shared reports ->Dashoards and Scorecards and execute document Casino Visual Insight Analysis.
  • Check cache monitor to confirm document caches are created.
  • Go to Command Manager and login the project source.
  • Execute command "PURGE ALL CACHING IN PROJECT "Strategy Tutorial";".
  • Refresh cache monitor. Document caches are still there.
