  1. Launch the Web Customization Editor.
  2. Create a new plug-in and give it a meaningful name.
  3. Click in Strategy Web Configuration inside the Application Settings view to expand the hierarchical tree. The expanded list comprises the different settings that can be modified to perform customizations.
  4. Right-mouse click Styles and select Create Transform to launch the Transform Creation Wizard.
  5. Click Browse... next to the Source folder text field to select the src folder and click OK.
  6. In Superclass, browse for the FolderViewTransform. This will extend the existing transform.
    Enter the following information for the rest of the text fields:
    Package: ##Any package the developer wants to use##
    Name: ##Any name the developer wants to name the transform##
    Transform description: This transform will change the icon for specific objects in the folder pages.
  7. Click Next and the java class created should open in the editor.
  8. Override the getCssName method as follows.

    public String getCssName(WebObjectInfo object) {

    	String suffix = "";

    	//using a specific css class name for the object with id
    	//additonal CSS selector to original, if document ID matches hardcoded docID string
    	if ("docID".equals(object.getID())) {
    		suffix = " testing";
    	}

    	//append the special css to the default css class for the object type
    	return super.getCssName(object) + suffix;
    }

    A document matching the docID hardcoded here, will have this as its css class for the icon:

    mstrIcon-lg mstrIcon-lg-rw testing

  9. Change the transform on the FolderStyleIcon style to use the new custom transform created.
  10. Go to the CSS Settings tab in the WCE and create a new selector: span[class="mstrIcon-lg mstrIcon-lg-rw testing"]
  11. Create a new property background-image and a corresponding image value.
  12. Save changes, restart the Web Server, and clear browser caches.

Note: Depending on the original CSS class, the values will vary. For example, folders have the class "mstrIcon-lg mstrIcon-lg-f".

The example provided in this document is provided “as-is” and user has read the following customization warning:
