KB44325: The default ruler marker position when creating a new document does not comprise the paper margin in MicroStrategy 9.4.x-10.x

Stefan Zepeda

Salesforce Solutions Architect • Strategy

In MicroStrategy 9.4.x-10.x, the default workable area visualization does not include the paper margin when creating a new document

SYMPTOM:
In Strategy 9.4.x-10.x, the default workable area visualization does not include the paper margin when creating a new document; for example, in the image that follows, the ruler maker is positioned on 10 Inches and the Paper size has 11 inches of Width, as shown:

CAUSE:
It is working as designed because by default the ruler marker is positioned by considering only the workable area size when creating a new document in Strategy 9.4.x-10.x.

ACTION:
Manage the ruler marker position manually to obtain the desired visualization in Editable Mode when creating a new document in Strategy 9.4.x-10.x; for instance, positioning the ruler marker on the value corresponding to the Paper Width value.
