This document shows "Memory governing limit reached!" error message incorrectly appears when executing a grid report in MicroStrategy Mobile.

The Strategy Mobile 9.3.1 application has specific memory governing limits which are hard-coded into the application and cannot be adjusted. These limits can be found in tech note KB41949: What are the new Memory Governing Limits in the MicroStrategy 9.3.0 and 9.3.1 Mobile Application . However, users may notice that even if their grid reports are well below these limits, for example only a simple report with several rows and columns, this error message may still appear, like shown below:


Memory Warning! Memory governing limit reached!

CAUSE:
This is a known issue in the Strategy Mobile 9.3.1 application and is caused by a situation where the setting for "Maximum columns in grid" is set too low. When this setting is set to a value that is less than the number of rows on the grid report, the application will incorrectly show the memory limit error instead of the maximum columns reached error. This setting can be found in the mobile configuration, like shown below:

ACTION:
This issue has been addressed in Strategy Mobile 9.4.0. Upgrade to this version to take advantage of the fix.

WORKAROUND:
Increase the "Maximum columns in grid" setting until it is greater than the number of rows being displayed on the grid report.
