How to include a calendar when creating a filter on a numeric datatype for ’Date’ in MicroStrategy Developer 9.4.1 and 10.x?

What is the method for including a calendar in the Attribute Qualification window when creating a filter for a numeric datatype?
Suppose a user wants to create the filter 'Yesterday'. In this case, every time a report containing this filter is executed, the returned data will be from the previous day. Additionally, suppose that all dates in the lookup tables are datatype 'Numeric' instead of datatype 'Date'. As a result, the user will not be able to specify 'Today - 1' (current date minus one day) when creating an attribute qualification to construct this filter ('Yesterday') because no calendar appears in the Attribute Qualification window.

To include a calendar in the Attribute Qualification window, follow the steps below:

  1. Go to Schema Objects > Attributes and double-click on 'Day' (assuming the attribute for which the datatype is to be changed is called 'Day').
  2. Once in the Attribute Editor, click on 'Modify'. The Modify Attribute Form appears.
  3. Check the text in the option 'Display Type' at the bottom of the window under the Definition tab. If the attribute in question has the datatype 'Numeric', it will be, by default, the datatype for display.
  4. Change the display type to 'Date'. Every time this attribute is displayed, it will be displayed as a date, rather than as a number, within the project.

NOTE: The datatype on the backend should be some sort of Date datatype. Any other datatype will not return the expected result set.
