KB44424: Microchart tree mode errors with "Tree display mode requires that subtotals be added to the widget ..." in Microstrategy Mobile 9.4.1 - 10.x although subtotals are configured, while Microstrategy Web displays correctly

The following error message is displayed in Microstrategy Mobile 9.4.1 - 10.x when trying to run a document with a Microchart tree mode widget: Tree display mode requires that subtotals be added to the widget as follows: Subtotal grouped by <Category> and <Month> Multiple subtotals at the same grouping level are not allowed

SYMPTOM:
The following error message is displayed in Strategy Mobile 9.4.1 - 10.x when trying to run a document with a Microchart tree mode widget:


Tree display mode requires that subtotals be added to the widget as follows:
Subtotal grouped by <Category> and <Month>
Multiple subtotals at the same grouping level are not allowed

CAUSE:
Although the subtotals seem to be correctly defined, some modifications are required.

ACTION:
Grouping at the subtotal level needs to be modified:
Applied Levels is to be changed from "Across Level" to "Group by", where only "Category" and "Month" are added as you can see in the screenshot below:

Dashboard will display correctly after these changes.
