KB44493: How to change the grid spacing in a Report Services Document in MicroStrategy Web 10.x

SYMPTOM
In a Report Services Document, when placing objects in the layout, the objects will snap to the grid dots that are seen in the background.
 

 A user may want to move the objects in smaller or larger increments.  The following procedure should be followed to change the grid spacing in Strategy Web 10.x.
 
ACTION

• Go to the Project Preferences.
• Navigate to either User Preferences, or Project defaults, to change this at the project level.
• Navigate to the Report Services tab on the left hand side.
• The setting that affects this is the Alignment grid density.  Change this from Low, Medium, or High, as shown below.
   
  

• This will change how close or far apart the grid spacing is, allowing to place objects in the desired areas.
