KB44635: Both display and browse forms are selected in SQL for a filter in MicroStrategy Developer 10.x.

Stefan Zepeda

Salesforce Solutions Architect • Strategy

Both display and browse forms are selected in SQL for a filter in MicroStrategy Developer 10.x.

SYMPTOM:

When a user creates an attribute that has different browse and display forms and creates a filter on that same attribute, the SQL Trace log for the filter shows that both the browse and display forms are in the SELECT clause.

Steps to Reproduce:

  • In Strategy Tutorial, modify the attribute 'Customer' so that only First Name is in display forms and Last Name is in browse forms:

  • Enable SQL Trace in Database Classes.
  • Create a report, drag the Customer attribute to the filter, add some attributes into the filter and save and close the filter.

  • Open SQL Trace and note that both CUST_LAST_NAME and CUST_FIRST_NAME are in the select statement.  What is expected is to only pull browse forms.
