KB44728: "DssCleanupHistoryList" and "DssHistoryListCommandDeleteCache" administrative tasks appear in Developer for the tasks "Delete History List Messages" and "Clean History List database" respectively in MicroStrategy 9.x.

SYMPTOM
When creating administrative tasks in Strategy Developer, the "Delete History List Messages" and "Clean History List database" tasks have a naming convention which does not correctly relate to their actual task. The "Delete History List Messages" administrative task is listed as "DssCleanupHistoryList(*)" as shown below.

From the "Scheduled Maintenance" Section in Strategy Developer:

The "Clean History List database" administrative task is listed as "DssHistoryListCommandDeleteCache".

This can cause some confusion as the user may assume that "CleanupHistoryList" is for cleaning History List databases and "Delete History List Messages"  is for "DssHistoryListCommandDeleteCache". This is NOT the case.

CAUSE
Even though the naming convention is confusing, the tasks are working as expected for their respective jobs.
