KB44816: In MicroStrategy Intelligence Server 9.3.x, Statistics logging against Oracle 11gR2 database fails with the error "Datetime field overflow"

SUMMARY: 
This issue has been classified as a defect by Strategy. The impact is limited to Strategy Enterprise Manager 9.3.x products only with statistics recording to a database. A workaround is available in the current document. A solution/code fix for this issue is not available in current releases but is being reviewed for a future Strategy release.
 
SYMPTOM:
In Strategy Intelligence Server 9.3.0, when statistics tables are located on Oracle 11gR2 database, statistics logging fails. Errors similar to the following are seen in DSSErrors logs.
 

OdbcParameterizedQuery::ExecQuery failed.
Error type: Odbc error. Odbc operation attempted: SQLExecute.

Datetime field overflow. Error in parameter 9. Connection String: DSN=STAT;UID=STAT;HOST=Strategy;PORT=1521;SN=STAT;.
SQL Statement: 
insert into IS_SCHEDULE_STATS (SCHEDULEID,SESSIONID,SERVERID,SERVERMACHINE,PROJECTID,TRIGGERID,SCHEDULETYPE,HITCACHE,STARTTIME,DAY_ID,

HOUR_ID,MINUTE_ID,RECORDTIME) values (?, ?, ?, ?, ?, ?, ?, ?, ?, ?, ?, ?, SYSDATE).

 
 
CAUSE:
This is a known issue with statistics logging in Strategy Intelligence Server 9.3.X, when the option to use parameterized queries is enabled on the statistics database connection object and when statistics tables  are located on Oracle 11gR2 database.
 
 
ACTION:
Contact Strategy Technical Support for an update on this issue or follow the workaround suggested below:
 
WORKAROUND:
Disable the use of parameterized queries on the statistics database connection object. To do this, edit the Statistics database instance, then edit the database connection object, go to the advanced tab and uncheck the option to use parameterized queries.
 
ADDITIONAL TROUBLESHOOTING:
If the workaround steps above do not resolve the issue, please consider calling Strategy tech support with the following information of troubleshooting already done

1. Collect the DSSerrors.log from the Strategy Intelligence server. KB11140 - What is the DSSErrors.log, how does it work and where is it located for Strategy Intelligence Server 9.x?
2. Results or output of following the above workaround steps.
