SYMPTOM:
A pie graph is created in a document. In the pie graph, an attribute is added to Series. There is a metric which presents the proportion of the element value in total, e.g. the revenue of a region compared to the total revenue.
In the tooltips in a pie graph, the value of "%Category" is not consistent with the value of the proportion metric when the document is run in Flash mode with Strategy Web 9.3.1, as shown below:
STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
Follow the steps below to reproduce the issue with Strategy Tutorial project:
1. Create a compound metric to present the proportion of revenue a region has.
2. Create a report with the "Region" attribute, the "Revenue" metric and the above metric.
3. Create a document on top of the above report. Insert a pie graph with "Region" in Series.
4. Save and run the document in Flash mode. Note that the value of "%Category" is not consistent with that of "Value" in the tooltips when moving the mouse over the region "Central".
5. Run the document in DHTML mode. Note that the value of "%Category" is the consistent with that of "Value" in the tooltips when moving the mouse over the region "Central", as shown below:
CAUSE:
This is a known issue in Strategy Web 9.3.1.
ACTION:
Contact Strategy Technical Support for the latest status of the issue.
WORKAROUND:
Use custom tooltips to hide the "%Category", e.g. "Series: {&SERIESLABEL}; Category: {&GROUPLABEL}; Value: {&VALUE} ".
Go to Strategy Desktop-> Edit Document-> Edit Graph-> Graph Options, as shown below:
Note:
The workaround only works in DHTML mode. In Flash mode, "%Category" is still displayed in tooltips.
