SYMPTOM:
"Follow the instructions marked below by a red flag." message appears and the prompted report cannot be executed after changing the prompted date format to be dd-MM-yyyy in format_config.xml file in Strategy Web in Red Hat Linux OS.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
- Use Tomcat in Red Hat Linux to deploy MSTR Web..
- Modify the format_config.xml file in the following way:
Search for "US" for the locale. Modify the date display to make the order: day/month/year. (The default one is month/day/year.)
Sample code:
<data-type name="date">
<out>d/M/yyyy</out>
<in>d/M/yy</in>
<in>d/M/yyyy</in>
<in>d MMM, yy</in>
<display>d/M/yy</display>
- Restart the web server
- Set all locales as US
- Create a report using at least Day. Create a value prompt filter on Day.
- Create a document on it
- Run the document. The prompt appears. It works fine if you choose a date before 12th. e.g. 1/8/2009 refers to August 1st. But if a date after 12th is chosen, e.g. 25/8/2009, "Follow the instructions marked below by a red flag." message appears and the report cannot be executed.
CAUSE:
