When installing MicroStrategy Analytics Desktop on a computer that already has MicroStrategy Analytics Enterprise or previous MicroStrategy platform components installed, an error message is received preventing the installation

When installing Strategy Analytics Desktop on a machine that has Strategy Analytics Enterprise or previous Strategy platform components, the following error message is seen:

Setup has detected that a Strategy product is installed on this computer.
Please uninstall other Strategy products before installing Strategy
Analytics Desktop.

Setup will now terminate.

Strategy Analytics Desktop is based on Strategy Platform components and as such some of the files it installs and registers will collide with existing ones if there are Strategy applications on the machine. The user will be alerted at installation time whenever this happens and the setup routine will not proceed. The alternatives are to either uninstall the existing Strategy applications, or install Strategy Analytics Desktop on another machine.

In 10.x, Strategy Analytics Desktop which is a 64-bits application can coexist with Strategy Analytics Enterprise platform.
