KB45090: How to enable the XML API logs for the MicroStrategy Web Services Server

For troubleshooting purposes, it is possible to track and log all communications at the WebAPI layer between the Strategy Web Services server and the Strategy Intelligence Servers.
To configure these diagnostics, make the following changes to the mwsLogger.properties file located in:
ASP.NET
<Strategy Home>/Web Services/
 
J2EE (i.e Tomcat)
$CATALINA_HOME/Webapps/StrategyWS/
 
Changes:
Make changes to the following 3 entries in the mwsLogger.properties file:

1. com.Strategy.webapi.Log.level=FINE
2. fileH.level=FINE
3. level=FINE

Optional:

• The following option limits the number of files generated by the file pattern. By default, file names change every day:
