When troubleshooting dashboards as per KB19625: Dashboard performance troubleshooting in MicroStrategy 9.x, HTML Generation counters might be helpful but are not included by default in Diagnostics Configuration performance counter list. To enable HTML Generation counters to appear in Strategy Diagnostics Configuration, use the following steps:
1. Stop Strategy Intelligence Server and Locate MSI_Reg.reg file
2. Locate the entry:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\MicroStrategy\DSS Server\Instances\CastorServer\Performance Counters\MicroStrategy Intelligence Server Profiler]
3. Add the following entries right after the previous line:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\MicroStrategy\DSS Server\Instances\CastorServer\Performance Counters\MicroStrategy Intelligence Server Profiler\HTML_GENERATION CPU Time(sec)] "Persist"=dword:00000000 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\MicroStrategy\DSS Server\Instances\CastorServer\Performance Counters\MicroStrategy Intelligence Server Profiler\HTML_GENERATION Elapse Time(sec)] "Persist"=dword:00000000 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\MicroStrategy\DSS Server\Instances\CastorServer\Performance Counters\MicroStrategy Intelligence Server Profiler\HTML_GENERATION Total Counts] "Persist"=dword:00000000
4. After adding the entries, the counters will appear in the Diagnostics Configuration in the Performance tab.
