KB45193: How to uninstall MicroStrategy in a UNIX/Linux environment in MicroStrategy 9.3.x and newer

A user can uninstall Strategy in a UNIX/Linux environment using the Strategy Installer for UNIX/Linux in Strategy 9.3.x and newer. The Strategy Installer for UNIX/Linux (setup.sh) can be found within the Strategy install directory.

1. Graphical User Interface (GUI) mode
2. Command line mode​

Graphical User Interface (GUI) Mode:
To utilize the Graphical User Interface version of the Strategy Installer for UNIX/Linux, run the setup.sh executable file as shown below:
Sample Code:

./setup.sh

• Select a desired language and click "Next" to continue.
• Ensure that the "Use existing installation" and "Uninstall" options are selected in the "Strategy Installation Selection" window and click "Next".
   
  

• Select "Next" to complete the uninstall of Strategy.
  
   

Command Line Mode:
To utilize the command line mode version of the Strategy Installer for UNIX/Linux, run the setup.sh as shown below:

./setup.sh -console

• Select a desired language and click "Next" to continue"
  
• Select 2 to use an existing installation.
  
  

• Select a Strategy installation from the list.
  
• Select 3 to uninstall.
  
  

• Press Enter to continue reading or select "C" to skip and complete the uninstall.
