KB45262: How to wipe MicroStrategy data from mobile devices

Community Admin

• Strategy

This article outlines how to use the MicroStrategy Certificate Server to protect data.

In the case a mobile device is lost, users may want to wipe Strategy data from the mobile device to ensure the data is safe.
To achieve this, users can take advantage of Strategy Certificate Server to protect the data. With Strategy Certificate Server, every mobile device needs a valid certificate to connect to the web server and get the data. If a mobile device is lost, users can revoke the certificate or let the certificate expire for that device.
Benefits of using Strategy Certificate Server:

  • It allows the administrator to block a mobile device from connecting.
  • People who find the device won't be able to log into Strategy Mobile APP.
  • Users can use the Data Wipe feature provided by the certificate server to delete cache files on the device.

Please refer to the following tech notes for information on how to configure Strategy Certificate Server.

  • KB38391: How to configure the Strategy Certificate Server for client certificate authentication for Strategy Mobile 9.x
  • KB37798: How to configure a Strategy Mobile Certificate Server 9.2.1 on IIS web server
