In Strategy Analytics Enterprise 9.4.1, if the dataset is a “direct-loading” cube with report filter, then the attribute only grid will get different result if we add other irrelevant dataset.
For example:
The datasets are as follows:
Cube C01 has a report filter:{Region in Northwest, Southwest, Central};
The VLDB of “Data population for Intelligent Cubes” = “Direct loading of dimensional data and filtered fact data(can provide improved performance when majority of the attribute elements are used by the cube. In this method lookup tables will not be joined to fact tables)”
The other dataset can be any irrelevant dataset, such as “R1, Year, Month”.
In Strategy 9.3.x, if user put region into the grid, it will only return three rows, because it gets elements from cube C01, as follows:
Select region from C1;
In Strategy Analytics Enterprise 9.4.1, if a user puts "Region" onto the grid, it will return all regions, because it gets elements from a global lookup table, as follows:
Select region from document;
Besides, in Strategy Analytics Enterprise 9.4.1, if the user removes the other irrelevant dataset (the direct-loading cube is the only dataset), it will also only return 3 rows the same as in Strategy 9.3.x.
