Community Admin

• Strategy

If the default warehouse (located in Microsoft Access) for the MicroStrategy Tutorial project needs to be migrated to Microsft SQL Server for troubleshooting purposes, the procedure outlined below can be followed.
  • Create a new and empty database in Microsoft SQL Server.
  • On the Microsoft Windows machine where the Intelligence Server is installed, create a DSN to connect to the database created in Step 1.
  • Locate the Microsoft AccessTutorial warehouse database provided out-of-the-box. This can be found in the following location

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Strategy\Tutorial Reporting\TUTORIAL_DATA_7200.mdb.

Note: The user can also do the same for any other out-of-the-box Microsoft Access databases in the Strategy Analytics Modules (CAM, FRAM, HRAM, SAM and SDAM).
  • Open the Microsoft Access database selected in Step 3 select Database Tools > SQL Server as shown below. This will launch the Upsizing Wizard.

  • Select "Use an existing database" and click "Next". This will launch the "Select Data Source" window.
  • In the "Select Data Source" window, go to the "Machine Data Source" tab and select the DSN created in Step 2. Click "Ok" and enter the credentials to connect to the database.
  • A new window will pop up allowing the user to select all the tables they want to migrate to the new SQL Server database. Select all the tables and click "Next".
  • On the Upsize options displayed, use the following configuration (shown below) and in the next window select "No application changes".
