SUMMARY:
This "How to " technical document describes the duplication of a project's metadata into a Microsoft Access file.
To duplicate the project metadata to a Microsoft Access file, execute the following on the machine where a Strategy project source is already pointing to the project to transfer.
- Create an empty metadata shell in an MicroSoft Access file
- Open Start > Programs > Strategy > Configuration Wizard
- Select 'Metadata Repository and Statistic Tables' and click on 'Next'
- Check 'Create Metadata Tables' only and click on 'Next'
- Select 'Configure Repository in an Access database'
- Optional - Users may want to change the location of the metadata shell file.
- Click on 'Next' and on 'Finish'
- Once the file is created, the Wizard automatically creates a Data Source Name (DSN) pointing to the MicroSoft Access File that will be required later.
- Users may now exit the Strategy Configuration Wizard.
- Add a new Project Source and point to the metadata shell
- Open Strategy Desktop 9.4.x - 10.x
- Go to Tools -> Project Source Manager -> Add …
- Add a project source with the following definition and click on 'OK':
