KB45608: How to remove the Edit button on the Heat Map widget when viewing in MicroStrategy Mobile

SYMPTOM:
When viewing a document with a Heat Map widget in Strategy Mobile app 9.4.x-10.x, mobile users with Web Professional privileges may see an Edit button on the bottom right corner of the widget as shown below.

 
Clicking on this button will allow web professional users to modify some properties of the widget, as shown below:

 
However, administrators may want to disable this button to prevent modifications to the widget.
 
ACTION:
This can be accomplished by taking away the Web Professional privilege “Web format grid and graph” for a user or user group:

• Go to User Manager in Strategy Web or Developer 9.4.x-10.x.
• Go to the Project Access setting for a user or user group.
• Under the Web Professional privilege section, disable “Web format grid and graph”.
• After the privilege is disabled, the Edit button will disappear as shown below. 
  

Note: According to tech note KB36283, the option to close heat map sections can be made available to users without the “Web format grid and graph”. Follow these steps to do so if desired:

• Log into Strategy Web 9.4.x-10.x with a user that has the Web Professional privilege "Web format grid and graph", such as a Web Professional user or the Administrator.
• Run the desired document in Flash mode.
• Right click on the widget > 'Interactive...' as shown below.
  

• On the Interactive windows, enable the 'Delete' option as shown below.
  

• Afterward, all users will be able to use the option to close down panels in Strategy Mobile app, as shown below.
  

• Note: in order to get the closed items back, the user must rerun the document.
