Windows Internet Explorer

To display the web page again, the web browser needs to resend information you've previously submitted.

If you were making a purchase, you should click Cancel to avoid a duplicate transaction.  Otherwise, click Retry to display the web page again.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
Follow these instructions to reproduce the issue.

  1. Open up Strategy Web in Internet Explorer version 9, 10, or 11.
  2. Go to the Strategy Tutorial project.
  3. Create a new document.
  4. Add the "Prompted Category Sales Report" report as a dataset located in the following location:
Shared Reports > Strategy Platform Capabilities > Intro BI Class > component Objects > Datasets
  5. Click the IE browser refresh button.  The error should occur.

Video:
You can find a detailed video on how this issue is reproduced here:  Tech Note 45752. Steps to reproduce

CAUSE:
This is the expected occurrence in Internet Explorer 9 and up when trying to refresh a web-page that requires users to submit an input.  Input is required to be submitted when a prompt is included in Strategy.  This error message warns the end user that they might be submitting twice.

ACTION:
Instead of using the browser refresh button to refresh a report, the Strategy refresh or re-prompt button should be used.

If the steps above do not resolve the issue, please consider calling Strategy tech support with the following information of troubleshooting already done:

  • Results of testing with a user with the appropriate permissions to access Strategy Web, or with the Administrator user account if possible.
