KB45753: New Feature in MicroStrategy Web: Importing dashboards packaged in MicroStrategy Files (.mstr) into MicroStrategy Web.

Strategy Analytics Desktop introduced the functionality of exporting dashboard into Strategy Files (.mstr) files to share them with multiple users. Starting from Strategy Web 9.4.1 HF1 users can now import .mstr files into the Web Enterprise platform.
 
PREREQUISITE:
 
The Strategy Analytics Enterprise Administrator must upgrade the MetaData for the project(s) that users will be importing the .mstr packages into by following the steps below:

• Download and Install Strategy Analytics Enterprise 9.4.1 HF1.
• Launch the Strategy Configuration Wizard normally located under the Strategy Tools folder and choose "upgrade existing environment to Strategy Analytics Enterprise" and click Next as shown below:
  

• In the next window select "Intelligence Server Components" and click Next as shown below:
  

• In the next screen please enter the credentials of a user that has all the administrator privileges so that the MetaData upgrade can be executed.
• In the next screen identify the project in which users will be using the "Strategy file import" feature and make sure that the option "Re-execute Project Logical Upgrade" option is checked as shown below:
  

• Finally, follow the rest of the steps as guided by the Configuration Wizard until the upgrade has finished.

HOW TO IMPORT Strategy FILES:
 
Strategy Files can be imported by selecting the option in the "Create" menu in the Strategy Web default homepage as shown below:

COMMON TROUBLESHOOTING:
While importing .mstr files,users might encounter the error: 

"Import Unsuccessful. Strategy Web encountered an error."
