KB45768: String with multiple characters in bracket wildcard character does not work in report filter qualifications with operator "Contains" in MicroStrategy against Microsoft Access Warehouse

SYMPTOM:
 
String with multiple characters in bracket wildcard character does not work in report filter qualifications with operator "Contains" in Strategy against Microsoft Access Warehouse.
 
The following steps demonstrate how to reproduce the issue in tutorial project:
 
 

1. Create a report with Category in rows. Add report filter with qualification on DESC form of Category as shown below:

• Run the report and it returns 3 rows as shown below:

• The desired behavior is that the report returns only Books and Electronics as shown below:

 
CAUSE:
 
This is by design. Only single character is supported in bracket wildcard character as Microsoft document below:

WORKAROUND:
 
Use two separate filters for each string with proper logical operator "OR" as shown below:
