KB45847: Attribute element selector (filtering selector) shows the elements in the secondary dataset in MicroStrategy 9.4.1 - 9.4.1 HF3

Community Admin

• Strategy

Attribute element selector (filtering selector) shows the elements in the secondary dataset in MicroStrategy 9.4.1 - 9.4.1 HF3

SYMPTOM:
In Strategy Web 9.4.x, the elements in the secondary dataset are displayed in an attribute element selector.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
Follow the steps below to reproduce the issue with Strategy Tutorial project:

  • Create a report, R1 which contains Subcategory attribute.
  • Create a report, R2 which contains Subcategory, and apply the attribute element filter on Subcategory to select ‘book’ element only.
  • Create a document and add above 2 reports as dataset.
  • Set the join behavior of R1 to secondary, as shown in the image below:

  • Create an attribute element selector and choose both datasets as a target. Make sure to select 'Apply selection as a filter'
  • Note that the attribute element selector shows the attribute element in R1 dataset regardless of whether the join behavior is set to secondary, as shown in the image below:
